Fertility Benefits of Maca

Maca RootMaca is a Peruvian root related to broccoli, turnip and radish. It is considered as safe to eat as any other vegetable and indeed Peruvians have been eating it as a staple for centuries. Fast forward to now, Maca Root Powder is considered a superfood, an aphrodisiac, an energy booster, and a natural remedy with a variety of benefits, including increasing sperm health and balancing hormones. Ultimately, “”Maca enjoys a very long history of successful medicinal use for menopausal discomfort, infertility, and sexual healing. The question is not whether it works — because we know it works with certainty — but how it works.”

Maca Root PowderIt has also shown to improve sexual satisfaction in women who take SSRI anti-depressants, which I do.

I buy organic, powdered Maca Root and add one teaspoon into our Fertility Smoothie every morning. Hubby says it tastes coconutty and this makes me think it would also taste great in a smoothie made of milk, cocoa powder, and peanut butter. Might have to try that when the next chocolate craving hits!
